Before I forget

Before I forget

Since Big Son lives near Arsenal Stadium, he insisted I go and visit it. Firstly one tramped and paid a whopping 15 pounds per head to enter it. Any way Small Son and me had a great time photographing ourselves in the stadium. Ogling at the changing rooms and imagining the players to be there.
We were duly impressed by the maintenance and the cost of keeping a system of heaters so that the ground doesn't get frozen.

Erratic Electrcity

As I begin with Óm Ganeshaya Namah, the lights go off. Thankgod for the CPU which continues to work despite the minor irritations.Yes, here I will be able to write about the travails of writing. Of finding the elusive reader. Of the weird conmen waiting in my mailbox with offerings of windfall lottery wins. Of being a prey to strange marketing companies.

Happy days at Carronade court

                          Carronade Court

The first visit was like walking through Alice's Wonderland. I actually noted how many gates and lifts one had to take before one reached Divir's flat. There was an all-important fob that one pressed to open the main entrance. Then take a lift to the upper ground floor. Walk through a nice garden then another gate which required yet another pressing of the fob and another long corridor that led to gate G take a right turn leads to door A and then press lift for 2 floor and finally you arrive!
View from Divir's balcony. We spent many happy hours walking around the Court and sometimes even ventured to the larger one in the Buckler Court.
The busy city feel one could espy from this pulia. I always wanted to visit the shops down below. The salons and show rooms, never got around to venturing into it.

Nelsons Eye

                        Nelsons Eye

Trafalgar Square remains our favourite touristy spot. We never miss  visiting it every time. Even if we catch a glimpse of it from the double decker bus. Our trip is deemed complete. what with Husband always fretting about 'where is M? Where is Divir?' Dinaer's patience is sorely tried. So with Divir getting married he can worry about an additional member. So here's to many more Trafalgar square visits....

my traveling spirit

                     Brighton and Hole-burn

I am getting nostalgic about my London visits. Why do I begin with Brighton? Divir had organized the trip and as we waited for the bus on a particularly windy day the girl collecting our tickets was inadverdantly made us laugh by her constant 'Jiggle' jiggle' refrain. And her papers were all flying off her hands.
However, there was one phone call from Mumbai that changed our happy mood to a sombre one. This was from Divir's former landlady. The ancient one complained that she found her flat in total disarray and one of her chairs had been burnt to cinders.
The last occupant was dear Dinaer. The inquisition began, "who burnt it? How did it get burnt? What were you doing? Why didn't you tell me, etc. etc. Dinaer's stand was that it was a tiny cigarette burn made by mistake by his friend. Divir was worried that the ancient creature wouldn't return his security deposit which was a huge sum. Husband kept asking about Holburn one station that comes in Divir's tube stations. How can you take these things seriously?
To top it all our bus arrived late for the Ferry. We remained stranded watching cars and other buses just go past. Then finally Ms. Jiggle-jiggle tied up with her bosses such that the bus remained there while we walked on as foot passengers in the ferry. We reached London past dinner time, hungry and cold.

My first on line writers'conference

Well it was a first of sorts. An on-line writers'conference. I was curious as to how it would work out. Since I couldnot participate in live chats due to the time difference I was asigned to the Virtual Conference Hall.
I had already uploaded my workshop file for the participants to view and react.
Then I waited patiently for comments or reactions on the message board.
Well I found that nobody had taken time to react to my 'Writing as Meditation'. Then I put up my first lecture on the message board and there was some response.
Then as I replied some more responded to my subsequent lectures.
I guess since I hadn't anticipated too much interest I was satisfied.
Mainly the paticipants were keen to know how to build a website. Get their writing edited etc.

Writers Quest

It is difficult for a new writer to be read in a world of established authors. Once you have written a story you like to share it with others. People, who would read them, react to and enjoy them. Laugh or cry and in a way bond with the writer. The talent to narrate a story lies in all of us, we just have to reach and connect within for it to come surging out. When I discovered that, the thrill of creation was magical! As the words came pouring out, one wanted to reach out to a larger audience. Then began the painful hunt for publishers. There are so many of them but they all seem to be overloaded with aspiring writers inundating them with their work. It appeared that one would have to wait endlessly for that magical audience which laughed and cried with you. So I address this page to all the readers who would delight in reading and maybe in turn write some more wonderful tales so that the enchanting world of make-believe never ends.

Writing as Meditation

Meditation and Writing

Writing comes as a revelation, as a form of yoga or meditation, when the writer disappears in her writings and the only reality is the world she has created with her words. This leads to a profound experience of timelessness, when a single moment of inspiration becomes eternity. That is the whole art of meditation, the disappearance of the ego, the disappearance of the mind. Writing becomes a way to experience the unity of thought and its intrinsic spiritual nature.
Writing is therapeutic as well and is an effective way to overcome stress. Each experience however ugly, depressing or blissful becomes a reserve of emotions the writer draws on while creating her magical world of words. This helps in emotional healing. Writing is way to express the suppressed feelings. Life and writing get so intricately interwoven that life seems the tale of creation and the writer the carrier of the essence of life.
My seminar on writing as meditation will be available on
